Holy Rosary is an important part of the wider Kensington community. Many local organisations and businesses have formed strong ties with our school and hundreds of locals support the school’s regular community and fund-raising activities. In return, we encourage our students and their families to engage with our local community.
We value active engagement with a number of local community groups to enhance student learning and to allow us to give to the community in which we live. Our students have given their time, talents and resources in a variety of ways including: volunteering at the Op Shop, singing carols at Gregory Lodge, making regular visits to the residents at Lynch’s Bridge, donating goods for Christmas hampers for St Vincent Paul, moving sand at Kensington Neighbourhood House.
We also participate in activities with our Catholic feeder schools; St Aloysius College, North Melbourne and Simonds College, West Melbourne.
When Holy Rosary students graduate from Year 6 and move to their secondary schools, they are invited to attend a ‘Back to Holy Rosary’ BBQ. This provides an opportunity for students to connect with one another, and their past teachers, and reminds them that as past students they are always part of the Holy Rosary family.
